Please note that we do not accept direct video uploads to our TribeTutors.com website, we prefer you embed them to our website after hosting them elsewhere.
The formats we accept for presenting your videos for now, is that you present a link to your video from an external URL, such as YouTube.
For anyone who is a bit conversant with how web platforms work, direct uploads of heavy media files not only takes unnecessary spaces on the website, but can also slow down website loading times.
So, here’s what we advise:
The easiest ways to go, is to create a free YouTube channel using a free Gmail account. Upload your video to the channel, and when you’re about to publish it, set it to “Private”, rather than “Public”. Then, go ahead to publish the video.
Now, get the URL of the published video and paste it wherever you want to show your video on our TribeTutors.com platform.
Note that, if you set your YouTube video to public, anyone can be able to see it on your channel, and the purpose of anyone paying for your course on TribeTutors.com would have been defeated.
But setting it to private will keep it private, and only those who have access to the embedded version of it anywhere you embedded it on (like on TribeTutors.com, for instance) can then be able to see it.
Also note that, even if you have published your video on YouTube after you forgot to set it as a private video, you can still go back to edit it, and make it private.
Updates:
You can now upload videos to TribeTutors.com via your Google Drive as well.
